cookies everywhere!

I went to a Christmas COOKIE exchange party over the weekend. I made peanut butter blossom cookies to pass. YUM! There was A LOT of different kinds, chocolate snowballs, almond spritz, applesauce raisin, pumpkin raisin, cranberry bread, gold 'ol cut outs, brownies, and baklava and some others. It was at my cousins house, so it was nice to see her, my Great Aunt, and of course my Mom!

I love when holidays roll around because Pillsbury comes out with their Ready to Bake Shape Cookies. This time I got the ghosts shape instead of their cute pumpkin design for Halloween. They are really one of my favorite kind of cookie; and they are even better right out of the oven! YUM!!

(the plate the cookies are on is one i picked up at a recent sale)

garbage

Last night we went over a friends house, and the guys decided to make garbage plates. If your from Rochester you probably know all about these interesting named "plates". If you don't know, check out wikipedia's site. So Mike's job was to make the hot sauce. I was out with my family so he made it ALL by himself! And boy did he do a GREAT JOB!

Awhile ago we did a search online to find a recipe. Just do a search on google!!

on the lake

After visiting the Falls we drove to Niagara on the Lake. We had lunch at a small restaurant and walked the little town and shopped in the stores. One store I LOVED was a little English and Irish store. They sold my favorite chocolate candy, Flakes. My Grandparents would bring them over from Wales and they aren't sold in the states. So seeing them I had to purchase many bars of chocolate! They also sold some Welsh merchandise and had to get a mini flag to put in my house! Later we drove to Burlington to go to IKEA!! And of course I bought some things there!

melons

Today is national Watermelon day!! Woooohooo!! Everybody grab a slice of this delicious fruit!! Mike told me awhile ago that in Japan they have figured out how to grow watermelons square for their lack of living space. These unique melons cost about $82 and regular melons go for $15- $25!!
Check out that square one with a PINK bow!! The article said, that one is $300. I think I would take a regular and squeeze it in somewhere!!

uno, dos, tres

One of our favorite restraunts is the Uno Chicago Grill. They have one of the best steaks, their deep dish pizza is sooo good, and their french onion soup is out of this world! But the main reason we go there is their Deep Dish Sundae. It contains a hot fresh big cookie, vanilla icecream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce to top it off, baked in a dep dish pan. YUMM!! Maybe we'll go there after I get out of work today!!!

In celebration of it being Friday and the first full day of SUMMER I wanted to share with you what summer is all about!!! ICE CREAM!! Although I usually eat ice cream all year long, these treats remind me of the summers in middle and high school. Getting these at lunch time and enjoying them hanging outside with my friends. I was at Wegmans this morning and I got the ORANGE BUDDIES and . Delicious!! Nothing better on a hot summer day! So I encourage everyone to got out to your local food store and enjoy one immediately! yumm...

little cakes of happiness!!

Yesterday on my day off; I took a break from painting our family room to make a favorite of mine...CUPCAKES!! They take such little time to make, and they seem to last forever with the yield it makes! Another reason cupcakes are so great because there is no utensils or the use of a plate when eatting....even better! They are not only faboulous for a celebration but as a any day snack! With searching around the internet for random things, I came across this really cute wrislet, with you guessed it.. A CUPCAKE!
